In the news, DELIBERATE ON THIS!!!  Hahaha, man! Worst trial move ever! I wonder what his attorney said to him afterwards. . .

    Yeah, it is called the Sword and Shield concept. Since a mistrial is supposed to protect one side from not getting a fair trial, that same side can’t create the situation and then ask for a mistrial (since then it is acting as both a sword and a shield.)

    I’ve often heard it compared to a kid who murders both his parents, and then asks the court for mercy because he’s an orphan. Then the judge says THAT BECOME TWENTY TO LIFE!

    Haha, yes. Alan Derschowitz described the patricidal orphan as the definition of chutzpah in one of his books.
