On This Day in History

George Washington Carver was born January 10, 1864.  He would have been 143 today.

I was going to write something about how I hate when people copy other people’s styles.  Regarding fighting, Bruce Lee said that to imitate another’s style is to lock ones self into a prison of method.  You can imitate certain techniques, but a person’s overall style should be a reflection of ones self.  Take for instance the way Dwayne Wade plays basketball.  His fadeaway jumpshot might be reminiscent of Michael Jordan’s, but the way he plays the game is his own.

That said, Carmelo Anthony’s one punch and run is a blatant imitation of my style.  He owes me some royalties.

I would say that one’s overall style not only SHOULD be a reflection of ones self, but that’s ALL IT CAN be.

Didn’t we cut a deal a long time ago? I take Bruce Lee you take his girl? Or was that Phelps? Or one of you guys…

    Happy Birthday, Mr. President!

  3. Phelps says:

Maybe the deal was you take Bruce Lee, and I take you while you are distracted?
