Hugo Chavez

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has made the news again. This time he made a speech at the United Nations where he characterized President Bush as the devil and said that the podium where the American President had spoken the day before still smelled of sulfer. He then made the sign of the cross and then clasped his hands and looked skyward as in prayer in order to spiritually cleanse the area. How dare this motherfucker appeal to religious symbolism when socialism, a man-based collectivist thought system, clearly does not acknowledge a higher power. He did this, of course, to appeal to the religious based prejudices of the masses.

Much has been made of Chavez’s buddying up to Iran in recent weeks. This is clearly not so much a marriage based on ideology (Iranian political power is largely vested in its Shi’ite theocracy) as it is a partnership of opportunity. As the old African proverb goes, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. I’m more apt to condemn Chavez both on his political stupidity (amazingly he’s managed to bring the American Democrats like House Minority Leader Nancy Pilosi and former President Clinton to Bush’s defense) and for his political theory itself.

The Socialist ideal is predicated on class warfare and to this end Chavez has initiated moves in order to “help” the American poor with low cost energy. This is the global equivalent of passing out candy to strangers and assumes that America’s poor are going to be stupid enough jump into a stranger’s car because this South American thug starts handing out freebies like so many crack rocks. To this I will say consider the source! The fact that so many tyrants have claimed socialism is no fluke because when the needs of the many outweigh the rights of the few (et tu Spock?) the fight is against the human rights of the individual and the gloves are off.

Now Chavez is being hit where it hurts.

    Check this out:

The Venezuelan has said he did not prepare a script for his U.N. speech, but went in with ideas and spoke spontaneously.

And you thought BUSH was bad when he got off-script!

Then, of course, there is THIS video. Which I will give the man credit for for speaking the truth.

Also you Bushbots must come to the realization that both the Democratic and Republican parties are controlled by the same bunch of mass murders. The left-right paradigm is just a smoke screen to keep you confused. But alas. I am casting my pearls in front of pigs’ feet.

First of all I didn’t defend Bush, I attacked Chavez. Not the same thing. SECOND of all just because you can find someone else who will back up a nutty premise doesn’t make it any less nutty. In fact if it’s someone like Chavez who backs it I would think that takes credibility AWAY from the idea.  You can’t expect someone who is ignorant about so many things in a row is suddenly gonna be RIGHT about something.

My bad. I got carried away.

When I read what Chavez had done, I lol-ed and continued drinking my beer.

What a nutbag the UN has become.
