Back from Hiaitus

I have been away from my computer for 72 hours housesitting for my ex. Not only was I away from my computer, I was also away from cable television and phone service. No blog, no E-mail, no clue as to what was happening in the NBA playoff games, just hanging out with four kids playing video games and watching the worlds biggest collection of movies on tape. In the past 72 hours, I have learned:

1) I can’t beat any of my kids at Mario Party Double Dash;

2) Apparently for my kids, pointing and laughing at the last place player is the order of the day;

3) Life can exist outside of shooting pool, and;

4) Life is WAAAAAAAY more relaxing without a phone.

The only part that was really tough was not knowing what was going on in the news. Coming back home to 150 plus mails in my inbox kind of sucks too. I’m tempted to highlight them all and just hit delete but I’m afraid I might miss something. Damn that. I’ll take them a few at a time, get something to eat, and bide my time until it’s time to shoot pool.

It seems I haven’t really learned a thing.

    I am glad you had a chance to just relax for a little while. Just unplug the phone when you get home. That’s what I do.
